Guitar Synthesis

Every sound in this playlist is synthesised — and every one is modelled on a real instrument. The tones are reconstructed from acoustic measurements of sixty-five classical and flamenco guitars spanning two centuries of lutherie, from early romantics to modern concert and flamenco instruments. Some of them are silent museum pieces: Torres and Pagés originals that are effectively never played, early guitars that no longer hold strings. Here you can hear them anyway — each with its own body resonances, voiced by a physical model of the plucked string, with the pitch glide and shimmer a real pluck has. Read how it works in our case study.
